Abstract

The Krukenberg tumor is a malignant mass in the ovary, which usually appears in both ovaries and mainly originates from a secreto-mucinous gastric neoplasm in approximately 90% of documented cases. The research carried out shows that there is little scientific investigation on this topic at the local level, especially in Costa Rica and Latin America in general. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to organize and update the knowledge about this type of neoplasm, improve diagnosis, and consequently, the therapeutic approach.
