Definición y manejo inicial del Trauma craneoencefálico leve

Abstract

Trauma brain injury is one of the most frequent consultations in the Emergency Department. It is divided into mild, moderate and severe according to the Glasgow scale. Mild traumatic brain injury is the one that predominates. The main symptoms are usually loss of consciousness, bradypsiquia and amnesia. These symptoms can persist for a couple of days in what is known as Post Concussion Syndrome. Not every patient with mild TBI require imaging studies as this would be an unnecessary exposure to radiation and a very important tool would be misused.
